The Panel on Research Ethics is soliciting feedback from the research community on four documents related to the interpretation and implementation of the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS 2 (2018)) 

The proposed revisions to the TCPS2 include:

  1. ; and
  2. .

The Panel on Research Ethics is also proposing changes to its guidance on:

  1. (research involving two or more TCPS2 compliant institutions)
  2. (consent for unspecified research, often related to biobanks and data repositories). 

Anyone interested in providing feedback to the Panel on Research Ethics should send their comments by email at secretariat@srcr-scrr.gc.ca by October 4th, 2021, using the subject TCPS 2 CONSULTATION. Details about the submission process are .


In addition, the Research Ethics Office will also be preparing an institutional response and researchers are welcome to send their comments to reoffice@ualberta.ca using the subject TCPS 2 Consultation.
